Marrick Armstrong


Marrick Armstrong is a founding partner of Smith Reed & Armstrong and concentrates much of his practice on commercial litigation,  personal injury, employment and intellectual property litigation.

Legal Experience

In 2001 Marrick joined an Am Law 250 rated law firm, where he rose through the ranks from an associate attorney in the firm’s New Orleans office to a partner in the litigation section of that firm’s Houston office. After honing his litigation skills on high-level commercial and personal injury cases, Marrick founded his solo practice, Armstrong Legal PLLC in 2014. In 2016, he became a founding partner of Smith Reed & Armstrong, PLLC.

Over his many years of practice, Marrick has represented clients in a variety of disputes in a myriad of contexts. He has served both plaintiffs and defendants and has litigated and tried many jury and non-jury trials. Marrick has served as first and second chair on trials and appeals for individuals, energy service companies, refineries, healthcare providers, financial services and other companies, writers and music artists.


Marrick earned a BBA-Business Law from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in 1996 and in 2001 earned his J.D. from the Loyola University School of Law-New Orleans.

Other Interests

Marrick is also the co-founder of ROM Publishing/ROM Digital Ink Press, a digital e-book publisher. As a publisher, Marrick works with talented writers to edit, develop, publish, market and promote their works of literature.  He also serves on the Advisory Board of Inprint. Marrick resides in Houston with his wife, Melissa.
